Intrepid pilots - all good things come to an end, even to the immortal Valkyries. Today, we have begun the process of discontinuing support for EVE: Valkyrie to focus CCP Games' efforts and resources on new developments in our evolving portfolio of EVE Universe titles.

We are incredibly proud of what we accomplished with EVE: Valkyrie and its Warzone expansion and want to extend our deep appreciation to all our players for their support throughout the game's lifecycle. It is an honor to have been a part of such a dedicated community.

For the time being, you won't see any effect if you own a copy of the game. The game will continue to be playable with our servers remaining active until August 5th 2022.

On August 5th 2022, EVE: Valkyrie's servers will be turned off, social media profiles will be closed, and this website will go offline. Once servers are deactivated, customer support for EVE: Valkyrie will no longer be provided.

Thank you for being a part of EVE: Valkyrie. We look forward to the next chapter in the EVE Universe and hope you'll be a part of it and continue the journey with us.

Grab Some Salvage on the New Gateway Map

Experienced players will already know about salvage and its usefulness in EVE: Valkyrie, but for newcomers, it’s worth outlining exactly what it is and why you should be interested in it.

Salvage is space debris that pilots can pick up for use later in the game. It comes in three types: Raw, Component and Prime.

There are two ways to grab yourself some salvage. The first is when you are in battle. Whenever you destroy a ship or a drone, salvage is dropped and you can pick it up. Look out for the green glowing stuff; that’s the salvage.

When you’ve finished a battle - win or lose - the salvage becomes available and is distributed among the members of your team.

The second way to get salvage is as a single player in Scout Mode. You can explore all the maps in Scout Mode without any pesky enemies hassling you and each map has several bits of free salvage scattered around. Simply explore every nook and cranny of a map to track down that precious salvage.

As you play through the game and gain XP you will unlock ship blueprints at certain points. Salvage is used to craft those ships and add them to your hangar for you to fly and customize.

Pretty cool, right? There’s a bunch of salvage to be found on the new Gateway map and as we’re feeling the holiday spirit, we’ve decided to give you a hand finding the lovely loot. Check out the image below which we've helpfully annotated for you.

Gateway handson Structure anno

  1. Let’s start at the bottom of the structure where all that orange steelwork is still exposed. As you approach from the bottom, you will see the beginnings of the large main central tube If you look to one side of it, you’ll see a much narrower tube and the first bit of salvage is in there.

  2. Travel up the structure until the exposed framework gives way to the more finished section. You can see there are inner concentric rings around the central core. The second one of these has a small gap in it; there’s your next bit of salvage.

  3. Leave the central shaft and you’ll see a smaller cylindrical structure tacked onto the side of the main one. Fly up through it for more glorious salvage.

  4. When you emerge from that cylinder, keep going and you’ll see a large pointed tower-like object. There’s some more salvage halfway up the tower.

There’s more to be had of course, but we don’t want to deprive you of all the fun and challenge. Also, look out for echoes in the map. There are three of them and they each give you amazing insights into the origins of the warp gate on the Gateway map.
