Intrepid pilots - all good things come to an end, even to the immortal Valkyries. Today, we have begun the process of discontinuing support for EVE: Valkyrie to focus CCP Games' efforts and resources on new developments in our evolving portfolio of EVE Universe titles.
We are incredibly proud of what we accomplished with EVE: Valkyrie and its Warzone expansion and want to extend our deep appreciation to all our players for their support throughout the game's lifecycle. It is an honor to have been a part of such a dedicated community.
For the time being, you won't see any effect if you own a copy of the game. The game will continue to be playable with our servers remaining active until August 5th 2022.
On August 5th 2022, EVE: Valkyrie's servers will be turned off, social media profiles will be closed, and this website will go offline. Once servers are deactivated, customer support for EVE: Valkyrie will no longer be provided.
Thank you for being a part of EVE: Valkyrie. We look forward to the next chapter in the EVE Universe and hope you'll be a part of it and continue the journey with us.
Once you have a few battles under your belt in EVE: Valkyrie – Warzone, you'll have built up enough XP in one or more of your ships to head for the hangar and start exploring upgrade opportunities. Each ship has its own branching upgrade tree containing 15 upgrades for you to unlock; they start off at 1,000XP per upgrade, and become more expensive as you work through the tiers.
EVE: Valkyrie's Warzone expansion brought with it plenty of changes, with new ships, new maps, and the new Extraction mode being the most prominent, but perhaps the change that's brought the biggest impact to the game has been the introduction of Ultras.
EVE: Valkyrie – Warzone is so close to release now that we can barely think straight, and now, finally, it's time to reveal Warzone's brand new class: Covert. It features just one ship, the Shadow, and it's a whole new Valkyrie experience.
We've already introduced you to the Assault and Heavy classes, both of them bringing plenty of big booms to any fight. But if you're not so driven by the guns and the glory and prefer to take a more tactical position in battle, the Support class might be for you.
As we count down to the release of EVE: Valkyrie – Warzone on 26 September, we're bringing you up to speed with the new roster of ships you'll be flying into battle. Last week it was the new Assault class; this week it's those hard-hitting Heavies.
EVE: Valkyrie – Warzone is fast approaching, and you need to know about what you'll be able to fly when the expansion drops. Over the next couple of weeks we'll be introducing you to each class, starting off with the Assault ships.
As a rookie Valkyrie pilot, you need to realize your ship is not just your hot set of space wheels… it’s your second skin. Take the time to study it in detail and properly prepare for what lies ahead, or else you are going to burn. The more you know about your ship's instrumentation and the data it constantly feeds you, the more likely you are to survive.
This one goes out to the multitude of PSVR players who are imminently going to swarm into the airless expanses of New Eden as they begin their new career as an EVE: Valkyrie pilot.
Remember, in team play you’ve got team responsibilities… a fire and forget approach isn’t going to turn out well.
When EVE: Valkyrie hits PSVR on 13 October there are going to be an awful lot of rookie pilots out there. If you're reading this, perhaps you'll be one of them. And perhaps you don't fancy becoming cannon fodder for a more experienced player. Perhaps you want to make your mark as a pilot to be reckoned with, a pilot to be respected, and a pilot to be feared - but you know, in a nice way.
Sayings and slang explained
Some of the pilots you’ll encounter are not human pilots at all, but artificially intelligent bots, inconveniently focused on your destruction.
Listen up rookie! Your career as a pilot in Valkyrie will bring a great many varied and testing challenges whether playing alone, or with a bunch of other would-be flying legends. When you have taken delivery of your shiny new PSVR kit and your copy of EVE: Valkyrie, a whole universe of combat options will open up to you. What are they? We’re glad you asked… here’s what you can look forward to on October 13.
According to the classic space horror movie Alien, “in space no one can hear you scream”. Well, it turns out that’s a load of phooey. Plenty of people can hear you scream and laugh and cry and shout.
