The EVE: Valkyrie community ushered us into 2017 with an incredible charity stream for Specialeffect. This weekend, two of CCP Newcastle's own devs will be donning their waterproofs to support the cause.
There's not long to go now until CCP Starbug (Emily Knox) and CCP Bosun (John Nejady), hopefully recovered from their tour of duty on the Twitch stage at Gamescom, lace up their trainers to do the Great North Run to fundraise for SpecialEffect, a charity that helps provide access to videogames for young people with disabilities who'd otherwise not get the chance to enjoy them.
Starbug's already smashed her target, as you can see on her JustGiving page and Bosun has nearly reached his. If you want to find out more about what they’re doing and why specialeffect is so important to them, here's your chance. Emily, along specialeffect's Mark Saville and CCP's Stevie Ward (AKA CCP Redcape), who has previously helped to raise funds and awareness for specialeffect, rocked up for a chat with the Bammsters podcast last week to explain all about Special Effect's work.
