Happy 13 October, rookies. How are you finding your first day, and first foray, into PlayStation VR and EVE: Valkyrie? It’s a bit of a mind-bending experience, right?
Don’t worry, we’re not here to drag you away from your beloved new piece of kit. Enjoy yourselves, relish the experience, look around the cockpit of your spanking new Wraith fighter in awe.
Once you’ve had a play around and got your ass kicked a few times feel free to come back here and pick up a few tips on how to get one over on your fellow pilots.
We have put together a dogfighting video tutorial to get you started on your piloting career. Getting stuck into your first virtual battle is a bit daunting but our resident experts have some extremely useful advice on the subject. For example, it’s not always best to dive straight into the action, but instead check out your environment to identify the most vulnerable targets to acquire.
It’s also vital, when being pursued to make good use of cover to confuse the enemy and put yourself in an advantageous position. You can see this technique to work at around the 1’30” mark in the video.
Did you know that when you’re on the offensive, brakes are more important than boost? True story. Again you can find out all about that in the latter part of this video tutorial.
Enough from us – enjoy the vid and if you want some more hot tips on dogfighting techniques, we’ve got a bunch of cool strategy guides for you over the coming days and weeks.
